Hello everyone.
I'm JPYC-chan, helping with JPYC's PR from the outside 📱
The official integration just completed, and the timeline is buzzing even more.
In a nutshell, the release is—
"JPYC can be used on LINE."
A surprisingly big news piece has emerged for JPYC.
It's the thing that CEO Okabe teasingly hinted at, saying, "We have big news for JPYC today, what was it again?"
Since it's important, let me introduce what happened.
① What was announced
What JPYC announced on May 22 is,
"Unifi (ユニファイ)"
That a web3 wallet called Unifi now officially supports JPYC 🎉
Unifi is a wallet provided by LINE NEXT, a group company of LINE Yahoo.
The biggest point is that you can start using it with just a LINE account, without needing to install an additional app.
You can access it directly from the LINE you already use.
In the release,
"JPYC adoption in a wallet usable on the LINE app is a first in Japan"
is stated.
If the entry point is LINE, the distance shortens significantly, right?
② How impressive it is
What you should definitely note about this release is its scale.
LINE is a massive daily infrastructure in Japan with over 100 million users.
Having an entry point for JPYC there means that the Japanese yen stablecoin, which until now was "for industry insiders",
"a thing within everyday apps"
is moving closer to becoming that.
One user wrote
"Japanese yen stablecoin is moving from being 'only for Web3 people' to 'something used in everyday apps'"
as they said.
Today, the foundation suddenly expanded dramatically.
③ What can be done within LINE
On Unifi, JPYC payment, transfer, deposit, and reward receipt can all be completed within the LINE app 💴
Media articles described it as "transfers feel like messaging".
You can send yen money as easily as sending a sticker to a friend — that's the impression.
A brief technical note.
JPYC is available on Avalanche, Ethereum, Polygon, Kaia
Japanese stablecoin issuer JPYC announced that it has completed a Series B financing, raising approximately $32 million. New investors include Life Design Fund and three other institutions. Since its launch in October 2025, JPYC's business has grown significantly, reaching 18,000 user accounts within seven months and a total transaction volume exceeding $220 million. JPYC currently supports four blockchains and has been officially adopted by LINE Web3 wallet “Unifi”. The company plans to use the funding to accelerate system development and drive the implementation of JPYC in AI‑automated payments and cross‑border financial infrastructure. (CoinPost)
