According to the Financial Times, the UK tax authority HMRC has ruled that, from the new tax year starting April 6, crypto exchange‑traded notes (ETNs) will no longer qualify under the eligible investment range for Stocks and Shares ISA, and will instead be reclassified as eligible assets that can only be included in an Innovative Finance ISA (IFISA). Since currently no investment platform has been approved to both sell crypto ETNs and provide IFISA services, and the 57 registered IFISA platforms mainly engage in P2P lending and crowdfunding and have not indicated plans to support crypto ETNs, the practical effect is that investors will find it difficult to add such products to ISA tax‑advantaged accounts. https://t.co/h4xFB5qjP2
