"Kohaku isn't exclusively integrating Railgun, so it's not bullish."
I don't really understand this line of thought, or how this is remotely a "bear case" for ethereum:0xe76c6c83af64e4c60245d8c7de953df673a7a33d.
Yes, Kohaku is not just integrating @RAILGUN_Project, but also @TornadoCash and @0xprivacypools. Kohaku is bullish for ALL of these protocols.
The total TVL for all these projects is barely above $600 million, barely even 0.1% penetration of Ethereum TAM ($500 billion+). Post Kohaku, the entire Ethereum privacy sector can easily 10x+ as privacy becomes easily accessible.
Bickering over which of these protocols is "most ideologically aligned" or whatever is a futile exercise, and frankly, a losing attitude. A rising tide lifts all boats, and I can almost guarantee that Railgun being a smashing success will lead to a better outcome for Privacy Pools, Tornado Cash, etc.
For example, take a look at other popular sectors on Ethereum like lending and DEXs. Aave and Uniswap are the leaders in their r
I don’t agree with everything in this post, but I am in extreme agreement wrt to ensuring Ethereum is the most impressive chain in the world. It’s the most positioned to do it by far and I think clarity of purpose is hugely helpful. https://t.co/10LP5N40UR
Some of my perspective on where the @ethereumfndn is going.
First of all, this is only my own view. The board is not just me, and I have no extra special powers on the board that the other board members do not. @aerugoettinea is the one executing much of this transition. My input has been largely on technical questions. The board is in the process of expanding, and my own power within the org will continue to decrease, which is honestly what I want.
The 2025 era brought many important improvements to EF and its ability to execute. Many issues were resolved, and EF continues to benefit from its improved efficiency and greater focus on concrete goals to this day. And so with those problems resolved, early this year, the largest remaining hole that I perceived was something different nagging at me: I would regularly spot people saying things like "vitalik says these beautiful things about ethereum needing to be decentralized, and have privacy, and be a sanctuary technology, but why do the EF's actions not refl"
Ethereum (ETH) is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts, defined as applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud, or third-party interference. These apps run on a custom built blockchain, an enormously powerful shared global infrastructure that can move value around and represent the ownership of property. This enables developers to create markets, store registries of debts or promises, move funds in accordance with instructions given long in the past (like a will or a futures contract) and many other things that have not been invented yet, all without a middleman or counterparty risk. The project was bootstrapped via an ether presale in August 2014 by fans all around the world. It is developed by the Ethereum Foundation, a Swiss non-profit, with contributions from great minds across the globe.
