Candlesticks that skyrocket in a matter of seconds, sudden spikes and immediate pullbacks. This is today’s crypto market: low liquidity and algorithms vying for every single tick.
Many believe this is ‘price action’. In reality, when volume is virtually non-existent, it takes very little capital to move the price and create violent swings that seem to defy logic.
The issue isn’t whether the volume is buy or sell. Volume is what makes the market clean. It’s what creates trends, continuity and reliable structures.
When volume disappears, what remains are:
sudden spikes;
fake breakouts;
constant stop-hunting;
bots fighting amongst themselves;
random volatility that wipes out those chasing the price.
That is why trading today is much more complicated than during the great bull markets of the past. Not because trading doesn’t work, but because the context is completely different.
A trader must adapt. Reduce position size, wait only for the best set-ups, and accept that, at certain stages, not trading is already a position in itself.
