By enabling autonomous agents to discover, negotiate, and execute purchases, it promises greater efficiency for businesses and meaningful time and cost savings for consumers.

However, the primary constraint to adoption may not be regulatory alone; it is structural.

Most existing payment and commerce frameworks are designed around a central assumption:
that a human participant is always present.
From dispute resolution to chargebacks and compliance, human intervention remains the fallback layer of trust.

Remove that layer, and the system reveals its limitations.

This exposes a deeper issue, a protocol gap.

The current infrastructure is not built to support fully autonomous economic actors. It relies on:
