Makes no sense why an L1 privacy coin is stalled at a $45m market cap with $ZEC running.

Privacy was one of the strongest narratives in 2025.

$ZEC ran 861%.
$XMR moved 123%.

Now 8M+ Ledger devices support shielded transactions on $ALEO.

With a ~$52M mcap, is @AleoHQ the next 10x privacy play?

Aleo is building a private programmable Layer-1 using zero-knowledge proofs.

Unlike privacy coins such as Monero or Zcash, which mainly focus on anonymous transfers, Aleo is trying to bring privacy to smart contracts and applications.

The idea is simple: users choose what stays private and what becomes public, while applications still remain programmable.

That creates potential use cases in:

• Private DeFi
• Identity systems
• Payments
• Compliance-heavy sectors

The recent Ledger integration matters because it gives hardware-level support to shielded Aleo transactions across millions of devices.

Compared to privacy projects like Secret Network or Iron Fish, Aleo is betting on native ZK execution instead of external privacy layers.

There are still obvious risks.

Privacy-focused networks continue facing regulatory pressure. Several regions have already restricted or delisted privacy assets over AML concerns.

That creates exchange listing risk and liquidity pressure many transparent chains avoid.

At the same time:

• No major exploits surfaced
• No public misconduct issues emerged
• Partnerships around Ledger and USDC infrastructure suggest a stronger compliance approach than older privacy projects
