MegaETH (MEGA)

Fortunately we couldn't take part in MegaETH. The guys launched the ICO, set a pre‑sale price of 0.099$, and at the same time launched the pre‑market at 0.7$, so people were sure it was a guaranteed 7X. Since then they haven't done a TGE and the pre‑listing price is already almost 0.1$. In the end everyone will just get back their investment, or perhaps even less when you factor in the listing dump.

3 days into @megalaunch and the data is already telling a story. • Stablecoins are sitting at almost 2x of TVL • TVL is at $40M with 80%+ currently on Kumbaya. • 12 projects tracked so far on DefiLlama. But here's what I'm actually seeing, which most people are missing ↓ 1. Money is clearly moving into MegaETH: Stablecoin inflows and bridged TVL confirm that, but the difference in TVL suggests two scenarios nobody is talking about: a. It's either that this capital is sitting idle in wallets rather than being deployed into dApps — likely due to low incentives. OR b. Some of the protocols users are interacting with simply aren't being tracked yet. If you check MegaETH's Rabbithole page, there are over 60 dApps live, with more coming out of stealth (so I think this could be the case). 2. MegaETH's growth reflects something rare: a non-inflated, non-ballooned farm cycle. This has been the doom of nearly every chain that launched in the last two years( look at Berachain, Movement, Story, etc.) If no killer app emerges to shift their trajectory, there won't be a dramatic free, and if they do figure it out, it becomes a genuine win. At the very least, they're not under immense pressure to burn through their token incentivizing mercenary capital. (Seriously, whoever taught projects that playbook needs to be questioned. It's a lame and short-sighted move.) However, one thing they got wrong was the TGE. Trust is built when you don't change the rules mid-game. If they knew about their KPIs from the start, they should have communicated them from the onset. That way, anyone not cut out for the risk could step aside, and people like me would have had a fair shot to enter. Lastly, the public perception around MegaETH seems biased toward pain and the data doesn't support it. Some solid dApps are quietly building around the corner, @bread_ usually highlights a few, but you also need to get up and dig for yourself. See you on the other side.

Feels like MEGA on pre-market is about to break below the $0.1 pre-sale price (≈$1B FDV). For those who forgot — the pre-sale had super limited, curated whitelists 😅 some people even agreed to lock tokens for a year just to get an allocation. Pretty sure if TGE had happened in early February, price would already be below $0.1 by now. Hopefully they hit the KPIs. For now it all looks kinda rough — yet another chain with the same old DeFi primitives: supply on Aave, add DEX liquidity, mint NFTs, launch meme and so on.
