This whale is back in the gold trade after more than three years. Wallet 0xD20...62953 has quietly accumulated 952.56 $XAUT over the past two days, withdrawing the tokens from Binance at an average price of $4,128.60. The position is worth approximately $3.93M, marking the wallet's first major XAUT trade since March 2023. That previous gold trade couldn't have gone much better. Back when #XAUT was trading around $1,872, the wallet exited with an estimated $170K profit. More recently, the same trader also nailed an ETH swing trade between late April and early May, walking away with approximately $4.43M in profits. Tether's tokenized gold product Tether Gold (XAUT) has been integrated into the crypto lending platform Ledn, and plans to launch XAUT collateral lending services later this year. Tether states that XAUT is backed 1:1 by physical gold stored in a Swiss vault, with each token representing one troy ounce of gold, currently backed by roughly $23 billion worth of gold reserves.
