BREAKING: TON Core has released a structured action plan for the Sub-Second upgrade rollout. This upgrade introduces deep protocol-level changes aimed at improving transaction finality speed and overall network performance. Here is the execution timeline and what each phase means: March 31 Validators must upgrade their nodes to a version that supports the new consensus logic. This step is mandatory. Nodes running older versions will not be compatible with upcoming consensus changes. The upgrade prepares the network for coordinated activation without disrupting block production. April 2 Validators will vote to activate the updated consensus mechanism on the basechain. This phase includes a controlled increase in block production rate. The goal is test stability under higher throughput while keeping risk low. At this stage, the system runs in a partially upgraded mode to observe behavior under real conditions. April 7 Validators will vote again to fully enable fast consensus across both basechain and masterchain. This marks the complete transition to sub-second finality. After activation, validators must perform another node upgrade to align with the finalized protocol state. Technical Scope of the Upgrade The Sub-Second update is not a minor patch. It introduces multiple coordinated changes across: Consensus timing and block propagation Validator coordination rules Network synchronization efficiency Throughput optimization mechanisms These changes aim to reduce latency, increase transaction speed, and improve user experience across the network. Operational Advisory Validators must stay alert from March 31 to April 12. This period is critical for network stability.
