🔥SOL is about to undergo the biggest tokenomics overhaul in history Solana currently issues ~65K SOL per day but only burns ~650 SOL. Hundreds of millions of transactions are processed on-chain daily, yet the token hardly retains any value. Two proposals, SIMD-550 and SIMD-553, were created to fix this, and CEO Anza confirmed both will be implemented in 2026. 🔴SIMD-550: Cut supply speed up by double: - Inflation reduction rate increases from 15% per year to 30% per year - Inflation reaches a floor of 1.5% in 2.8 years instead of 5.7 years - ~19M SOL will not be issued over the next 6 years (≈ $1.5B) 🔴SIMD-553: More transactions, stronger burns - Add a resource fee based on each transaction's network usage, with 100% burn - Base burn jumps from 650 to 7,500–9,000 SOL per day (12–14× increase) - If the market returns to a bull run, this figure could reach 10K–60K+ SOL per day 🔴The deflation problem of $SOL: With the current issuance of 65K per day, immediate deflation is impossible. However, by 2028‑2029, when inflation falls to 1.5%, issuance will drop to ~26K SOL per day. At that point, sustained high network activity means burns exceed issuance → SOL will officially achieve net deflation like $BNB, 🔴And the fuel for burns is exploding at the right time: - Tokenized stocks on Solana reached $4.9B volume in H1 2026, six times H2 2025, accounting for 95% of global volume (record $553M volume in one day on 26/6) - RWA peaked at $3.4B, stablecoin surpassed $16B - More assets being tokenized → more transactions → more burns → tighter supply, while issuance naturally declines on schedule. This is the first time SOL has a genuine value-retention mechanism tied to usage, similar to ETH’s EIP‑1559, but arriving as Solana dominates the fastest on‑chain growth sector. SOL is currently around $80‑84; Standard Chartered targets $250 by end‑2026, about a 3× upside for this season’s bullish scenario. (I don’t believe this forecast will materialize, as SC’s estimate is just frivolous market hype.)

Solana generated $78.39 million in protocol revenue in June. Ethereum generated $38.88 million. Vitalik's Lean Ethereum roadmap for 100 TB state scalability lands in 2028-2029.
