    From a developer perspective, I like ICP's concept, but hoping someone can help with the practicality - lots of the ICP marketing talks about replacing commercial clouds. Okay, looking at the docs, I can kinda see how to replace an EC2 instance, but what about everything else? I want to evaluate moving say, an AWS VPC into ICP, but I can't find docs for the tools to build it, if those tools exist, and I'm beginning to suspect they don't. Eg. I'd need: - encrypted storage, both long term (like S3) and short (EBS), - some kind of relational database type, - something for passing messages like SNS, - docker container hosting like K8s (EKS) or at least ECS, so we don't have to rewrite literally everything. - there's an identity service so that's something, can it function as an oidc provider? - Also need metrics and logging for compliance and debugging, provided by default with AWS - possible build oneself with mimir/splunk if necessary but it would be nice to not have to. And after that, - how do I estim

    @CambrinNolan Lack of confidentiality has been holding back 99,99% of all blockchain use cases. No company would seriously consider building a "regular" application on a network if all data is openly accessible. SEV plus VetKeys changes that and makes data and compute confidential by default.

    99% down. That is the reality of the project Pakistan has just signed an MOU with PDA and the IT Ministry. Before anyone calls this digital sovereignty, WHO CONDUCTED THE TECHNICAL, FINANCIAL AND SECURITY DUE DILIGENCE. National digital infrastructure is not built on slogans.     Theres concern that $ICP can empower authoritarian regimes This is a valid reality, however it's a double-edged sword Yes they can hide malicious activities behind hack-proof doors, and have control over users on apps THEY build Theres also some censorship control within the reach of their boundary nodes (which is limited to range of their jurisdiction) However, ICP is permissionless and anyone can use or build on it. Dfinity faithfully fulfills the principles of decentralization within whats practical IMO The same apps corrupt governments make, can be made to lock them out in juxtaposition This means unstoppable soapboxs for whistleblowers and criticizers The same secured privacy they enjoy can be utilized by the individual as well So I'd condense this issue to a core philosophy that i believe in, that what empowers the individual is worth the price of empowering a state, because in this circumstance theres so many who will be uplifted by secured online usage That it will dwarf the negative effects from the corrupt And it pushes the awareness of the network to the world for global adoption The only battleground is NNS governance which, if you're a freedom lover, you should be accumulating voting power in
