Why DCA alone isn’t enough. Let me show you with real numbers

I’ll use two failed examples — $IREN and $BTC — and one successful example, $NBIS

Let’s start with $IREN.

Back in February, I bought $100k worth of $IREN at $42 share.

Four months later, despite $IREN rallying to $70 at one point, it’s now trading around $39. My position is down roughly $10k

If I had just kept DCA’ing more shares on the way down, the hole would’ve been much deeper

So what did I do instead?

I used my buy signals to trade a 2x ETF and sold whenever my sell signals triggered

The stock position kept me in the game. The real money was made through the 2x trades

Look at the three signals I marked

I always size my 2x ETF position at half the value of my stock position. In this case, I bought $50k of the 2x ETF three separate times

✅ Signal 1: +80% → +$40K
✅ Signal 2: +30% → +$15K
✅ Signal 3: +36% → +$18K

Total profit: +$73k

So while my stock position is currently down about $10k, the active trading generated $73k
