    FWIW it had very important implications for DeFi, specifically liquidations At the moment, there's no way to pre‑pay for the cost of liquidations. Things like AAVE or SKY need to have minimums for position size to avoid the liquidation cost being higher than the liquidation bonus. IIRC AAVE at one point had a bunch of micro bad debt positions Gas tokens fixed this. You simply made the user lock some gas tokens when they create their positions, then when you need to liquidate, you burn them. We had built @Superfluid_HQ around it too but switched back after they got scrapped.

    According to Yahoo Finance, Aave founder Stani Kulechov said that the UK HMRC's latest DeFi tax guidance could become a major turning point for crypto lending. The policy explicitly treats deposits of assets such as USDC and USDT into DeFi as not disposals and does not trigger capital gains tax, only taxing real sales or exchanges, equivalent to a “no gain, no loss” treatment. Kulechov stated that this will lower compliance costs, be favorable for institutions and retail users, and boost UK DeFi liquidity and borrowing growth. As the cash ISA tax‑free allowance will drop from £20,000 to £12,000 starting in 2027, traditional savings become less attractive, making the yield opportunities on platforms like Aave more competitive. https://t.co/VRjWMzkIZ5
