    Lighter Funding Rate Rebate Premium Account 6% ~25000 4.5% 50000~ 9% You can receive up to a total of 15% funding fee discount Only when you pay, then... 1. Long/short within Lighter - If you take a BERA short that is currently about 4380% annualized, you can get roughly 657% (i.e., 15% of that) - Taking a long/short gives about 50% from a Capital Efficiency perspective, roughly 328% - If leverage is applied, the effect multiplies accordingly * Also, of course, a high funding fee means higher price volatility risk, so be careful 2. Long/short with other exchanges - If you pay funding fee on Lighter and receive it on another exchange, the Funding Fee Rebate can double the funding fee profit Overall, the funding fee farming strategy looks decent But... "I don't know who is paying this money" Usually it’s you who pays...

    Lighter just dropped a pretty cool thing for perpetual traders: They're implementing a Funding Rate Rebates → they give you back up to 15% of all the funding you pay when you have open positions. How it works: - They don't give you a 15% lump sum just because ❌ - If you're Premium → you get an automatic 6% without needing to stake anything - By staking LIT → you can reach an extra +9% (maximum with 50k LIT) - Total maximum → 15% rebate on the funding paid with LIT staking + the premium account (9%+6%) So: if you're long with positive funding or short with negative funding, it hurts you much less now. Those who receive funding still charge the same (no changes). A good move by Lighter especially for larger HFT or MM capital. After zero fees, now they reduce the biggest hidden cost of perps. This is getting very interesting and Lighter keeps building whatever market we're in.

    Interesting move by Lighter. Right off the bat without looking specifically at all of the details this is most definitely catered to funding arb traders who can benefit from this competitive pricing model when staking $LIT. Last I checked I think a little under half of the airdrop has been staked so far. They’re adding value to people who own and stake $LIT. They basically created an extra bit of edge for people who invested in $LIT and staked it. Good move.
