    Gaming governance tokens continue to dominate in 2026 and, according to the latest ranking, $AXS from @AxieInfinity is back in the top 5. On one hand, the ecosystem is fine-tuning its tokenomics and strengthening its governance model; moreover, the community has already moved treasury funds to generate yield, showing a more active and sophisticated DAO. On the other hand, the migration to @Ronin_Network Layer 2 is slated for Q2 2026, which could improve scalability and lower fees. And, as if that weren’t enough, the launch of the MMORPG “Atias Legacy” aims to give the token real utility within the ecosystem. However, not everything is green: historical volatility still weighs on the asset and competition in GameFi is getting tougher. Nevertheless, with solid market cap, active governance and new integrations on the way, AXS is back on the radar for those seeking exposure to gaming plus voting power in crypto.     A new theory appears! @samrags_ argues that crypto gaming will work now because onboarding used to suck--seed phrases, chain selection, bridging, signing weird hex strings. That's all gone now. So finally consumer can rip. Here's the problem with that story: Consumers actually did all that shit. Sam is telling an onboarding story, but the users actually onboarded. The problem was not onboarding, it was retention. Users DID the seed phrases, they DID the bridging, they DID the exchange KYC, they DID the Fox-themed wallets and signed the hex phrases, just to try all this stuff. They just didn't stick around because the products weren't worth sticking around for. (Look at the Telegram game ecosystem, it's even more stark.) So if the problem is users never showed up, then OK, maybe your onboarding story explains it. But if they showed up and didn't retain, having stablecoins or email logins doesn't help you on retention. This story just doesn't fit. Sorry to say, your princess is in another castle.

    With all due respect to Hasseeb, I completely disagree with this take. Chris was and is a mentor to me, I'm not pretending otherwise. But neither Chris nor Haseeb are builders in the category. I have spent the last year in the trenches trying to build non-speculative consumer crypto usecases. Ignore "non-financial". That's a useless umbrella. I care about non-speculative. Here's what I know with total clarity: Three years ago it was 100% impossible to ship a good consumer crypto experience. Not hard. Not early. Impossible. The wallet experience was complete and utter dogshit. Injected wallets are an unacceptable UX. Seed phrases, unacceptable. Blind signing, unacceptable. Bridging, unacceptable. Here's your onboarding experience for a consumer media flow: 1. Install a fox-faced browser extension 2. Write down a 24 word seed phrase and hide it under your fridge (btw now some romanian dude's gonna break int your house) 3. Select a chain if god willing you understand what that means 4. Go find a bridge

    Today's a good day to announce that I've moved back to where it all began, Sky Mavis HQ in Vietnam. The move will allow me to be more hands on and help expedite our efforts as we enter a pivotal period for Axie and Ronin. • We have a the Axie MMO's next playtest coming up ,terrariums, and bAXS deployment three key milestones to ensure a brighter future for Axie. • Ronin is getting ready to migrate to Ethereum, with the recent tesnet migration complete. The migration will also feature a tokenomics overhaul. More on this soon. • Ronin's content is coming into its own. As the dust settles, it's become clear that the most interesting experiments in digital economies are happening on Ronin. Recently we've seen many L2s and L1s releasing mainnets to crickets and low adoption. Content is king and this is a key strength for us to leverage moving forward. Ronin's strategy has always been app-centric and focused on building net new things that the world has never seen.
