Blockjock-James Dont Hate Just Create DeFi_Expert Community_Lead B6.53K @blockjock2017This could cause a run on Ada imo, were literally in a too big to fail moment like back in 08-09, its unfortunate and couldve been prevented but no one stepped in to stop the train from running off the cliff. Now its a shit sandwich everyone has to take a bite of if they want this blockchain to exist next year and the year after, I do so hand me the sandwich I guess💩 Maybe everyone else can read and chime in

Cardanians (CRDN) Educator Community_Lead C70.94K @Cardanians_io🎙️ CARDANO PROPOSALS SPACE Tomorrow we'll be hosting the first episode, giving the stage to Innovation & Growth DAO (@adaGrowthDAO) Space format: → 15min pitch → 15min AMA What's the proposal about? A DRep-governed funding mechanism allocating 12M ADA across three rounds to support smaller proposals (20k–300k ADA) that are too early or too small for direct Treasury withdrawals. Come hear what they're building and ask the hard questions. Set your reminder 👇 https://t.co/uUgPACeitN

Eternl D36.44K @eternlwalletThanks for helping bring more attention to our proposal. We appreciate it. For Eternl v2.1, we plan to upgrade the Governance section with: + Proposal creation, starting with treasury withdrawals and info actions + Automatic draft saving when voting on multiple proposals, making it easy to switch between them + The option to submit all votes in a single transaction, or split them into multiple transactions for Ledger hardware wallets We have been building on Cardano for well over five years, running our own infrastructure and providing reliable access to the chain. We will continue doing so.

Blockjock-James Dont Hate Just Create DeFi_Expert Community_Lead B6.53K @blockjock2017Too Big to fail……….a cautionary tale Anyone remember that phrase being uttered by our leaders? I do it was the worst experience in the first 10 years of my business, so bad I went into and fell out of a chapter 13 early but it got much much worse (I restructured directly with my largest lender to save everything I had built and was without any credit for 7 years). I was physically ill from it, lost my home due to it and felt like I had let down 12 known generations of Meidinger males along with my family and of course the 13th generation, my son Mark. Nothing will ever erase that day from my memory and allow me to make poor financial decisions ever again. This is what drives my statements on fiscal responsibility like ensuring you have at least 24 months of reserves sitting in a low risk account (saved my ass big time during the pandemic) I never want to see the look on my wifes face again after we lost our home we had bought in 1999. It was my fault I was over leveraged, forgot why it was important to be cash flow positive and under the illusion of “what could go wrong, this booming economy will never end” Nothing will ever be perfect forever and you sure can prepare for down mkts, this can be changed and we can start now, right @IntersectMBO ? Can we finally learn our lesson here? Or are we just too stuck mentally to see whats right in front of us? If not I might just be over this whole “Push Power to the Edges” ideal as it appears we have completely lost our way and its just to painful to sit and watch this whole thing die simply because of poor fiscal preparation.
Nicolas Cerny D3.15K @NicolasC3rnyI strongly believe that the Cardano Treasury can be used to fund for-profit companies that build public goods. It's also okay to make a small profit when requesting funding, companies need it. But what I can't support is a lack of transparency regarding profit margins and actual costs. You can try to get that approved, but DReps should no longer accept this. We need budget transparency to start developing an understanding of how expensive it is to "keep the lights on" or how costly a specific new feature is. How can we expect DReps to make good decisions if they have no numbers to go by or compare?

Dave OnChain_Analyst Community_Lead S25.55K @ItsDave_ADAI just voted ABSTAIN with 66.58 million ADA on the treasury withdrawal proposal: IO & VacuumLabs: Enhancing Plutus - Performance, Correctness, and Usability On behalf of my loyal delegates. Rationale I am formally registering an ABSTAIN vote on the Plutus Language Capabilities and Developer Experience Treasury Withdrawal. I readily acknowledge the technical merit of this initiative, particularly the drive to enhance Plutus expressiveness, eliminate complex Nix dependencies, and integrate VacuumLabs as a strategic co-venture. However, I fundamentally do not feel this specific programme of work is an immediate requirement. Governance of a finite Treasury demands ruthless prioritisation and a keen awareness of opportunity cost. Whilst the deliverables outlined are undeniably valuable network optimisations, they are not existential necessities for the blockchain today. Indeed, the proposal explicitly notes that several core enhancements are contingent upon the future Dijkstra hard fork before they can even be activated on mainnet. Furthermore, from a strategic standpoint, I would prefer to direct our capital towards initiatives that drive immediate smart contract adoption by supporting the diverse array of alternative languages currently flourishing on our blockchain. Concentrating nearly twelve million ADA so heavily on Plutus-specific refinements feels misaligned. My decision is therefore rooted in optimal capital allocation rather than outright opposition. I firmly believe the substantial Treasury allowance consumed by a YES vote could achieve a far greater, more immediate impact elsewhere within our ecosystem. Nevertheless, I have no desire to stand in the way of broader community consensus, nor will I actively obstruct an initiative that many builders view as beneficial. By abstaining, I entrust the final decision to the electorate, preserving my principled stance on strategic prioritisation. Transaction https://t.co/eap4QoVaz9

Blockjock-James Dont Hate Just Create DeFi_Expert Community_Lead B6.53K @blockjock2017F.U.B.A.R Are we approaching a point where poor treasury planning starts crowding out every other positive initiative in Cardano? That is the question worth asking. If an institution as important as @IOGroup can reach a position where ADA price weakness becomes a major constraint and imminent collapse is unavoidable, then the issue is not just market volatility. It is planning. 🔷 Was downside risk properly accounted for? 🔷 Were stable-value reserves considered early enough? 🔷 Were obligations matched against realistic market conditions? 🔷 Were governance initiatives protected from treasury volatility? 🔷 Are we building a system that can function when ADA is down, not just when ADA is up? Cardano governance cannot assume favorable price action as a financial strategy. If key initiatives become vulnerable every time ADA drops, then we need better treasury discipline, clearer financial controls, and stronger use of stablecoin hedging where delivery depends on predictable value. This should be a constructive lesson. Not a blame exercise. @IntersectMBO
Rodrigo P₳cini | Agora Research | dRep D1.40K @RodrigoPaciniYesterday you correctly pointed out that if all founding entity proposals were funded, the NCL would already reach ~349M ADA, essentially consuming the entire available budget. Now Pentad appears with another 23M ADA ask on top of that and the total ask is around ~372M ADA So let's stop pretending this is simply about “supporting research/science.” The founding entities themselves are collectively asking for more ADA than the ecosystem can realistically sustain simultaneously. More than 60M ADA has already been spent. Another ~50M ADA may still be allocated to the DeFi liquidity proposal. And even then, more massive asks continue to appear. At some point dReps are forced to ask a very legitimate question: Is Cardano Treasury becoming a decentralized ecosystem fund, or merely an institutional maintenance fund for founding entities? Because if nearly the entire NCL gets absorbed by maintaining the operations of the same historical actors year after year, where exactly is the decentralization of economic

Blockjock-James Dont Hate Just Create DeFi_Expert Community_Lead B6.53K @blockjock2017Here’s a more informational, system-improvement version: Voltaire Governance Needs Better Deliberation Rails “Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.” — Voltaire Changing your mind is not the problem. In governance, better information should improve decisions. The issue is when critical context, proposal explanation, and DRep education all seem to happen in the final few days of a vote usually on X, which is one of the worst tools for structured deliberation. That is not a people problem. That is a process problem. 🔷 DReps need clearer proposal briefings earlier 🔷 Proposers need better channels to explain complex work 🔷 ADA holders need visibility into rationale before the final stretch 🔷 Governance needs structured discussion, not last‑minute timeline pressure 🔷 Vote changes should be accompanied by clear reasoning, not confusion This is not about attacking DReps. It is about recognizing a gap in the current system and fixing it. If Voltaire governance is going to mature, we need better education, better communication, and better deliberation infrastructure before proposals reach the point of no return. Better process creates better conviction. @IntersectMBO
YUTA-Cardano/CPA(DMは全て詐欺) D10.61K @yutazzzThank you for your message, Charles. I have confirmed that the IOR proposal will never be resubmitted for any reason. In my opinion, some of the research in this proposal is likely to be a waste of money, but some, such as Leios, Peras, and quantum-resistant, are essential. I was hoping that it would be split and resubmitted, and I wanted to vote YES for some of them and NO for others. However, now that I have confirmed that the IOR proposal will never be resubmitted for any reason, DRep's current options are the following two, and there is no room for negotiation on other options. I will change my vote. 1. Accept the current IOR proposal. (Even if some of the content, such as PoUW, seems to be a low priority from the perspective of the Cardano ecosystem.) 2. Reject the current IOR proposal, abandon all research on Leios, Peras, and quantum-resistant, and destroy scalability and security.

Blockjock-James Dont Hate Just Create DeFi_Expert Community_Lead B6.53K @blockjock2017Voltaire governance needs a better deliberation mechanism “‘Doubt is not a pleasant state. However, certainty is irrational.’ — Voltaire” Changing one's opinion per se is not the problem. In governance, it is healthy for judgments to improve with new information. The problem is that important context, proposal explanations, and education for DReps seem to be concentrated in the final few days of voting. Moreover, much of this takes place on X. X is strong for diffusion but not suited for structured deliberation. This is not an individual problem. It is a process issue. 🔷 DRep needs clear proposal briefings at an earlier stage 🔷 Proposers need better pathways to explain complex content 🔷 ADA holders should see decision‑making material early, not only at the end of voting 🔷 Governance requires structured discussion rather than last‑minute timeline pressure 🔷 Vote changes should come with clear reasons, not confusion This is not a story to attack DReps. This is a discussion to recognize and improve the challenges in the current mechanism. For Voltaire governance to mature, before proposals reach an irreversible stage, better education, better communication, and better deliberation infrastructure are needed. A good process generates stronger conviction. @IntersectMBO
